2006 Australian Training Awards and Archive


The 2006 Australian Training Awards were held at the Adelaide Convention Centre on Thursday 16 November. The Australian Training Awards are the culmination of the State and Territory Awards with winners from each State and Territory competing at the national finals.

Innovative Business Award

The Innovative Business Award, sponsored by the Australian Flexible Learning Framework, will be presented to an organisation that demonstrates excellence in integrating technology in the operation of their business including the education, training and skilling of their employees.

The winner of the Innovative Business Award will be selected from the finalists of the 2006 Australian Training Awards organisational categories.

The six categories eligible for the award are:

  1. Employer of the Year
  2. Small Training Provider of the Year
  3. Large Training Provider of the Year
  4. Prime Minister’s Small Business of the Year
  5. Australian Training Initiative; and
  6. VET in Schools Excellence Award.

The winner of the Innovative Business Award will receive a cash prize of $10,000 to fund a business trip focusing on how an overseas business has grown through the use and implementation of technology, including the upskilling and reskilling of their workforce.

Employer of the Year

Medium to large enterprise which has achieved excellence in the provision of training to its employees can nominate directly to DEEWR for the Employer of the Year category.
