Apprentice Chef: Leuwin Andrew

Since he was a child, Leuwin Andrew’s life has revolved around hospitality. Inspired by his mother’s passion for cooking and food, he had already acquired a wide range of skills helping in her business before pursuing a career in hospitality. 

Since he was a child, Leuwin Andrew’s life has revolved around hospitality. Inspired by his mother’s passion for cooking and food, he had already acquired a wide range of skills helping in her business before pursuing a career in hospitality.

Leuwin realised during Year 11 that he could begin his VET studies at school. Following a trial work shift at Windy Point Restaurant and Café, he was offered an interview and is now engaged as a first year apprentice undertaking a Certificate III in Commercial Cookery while completing his Year 12 certificate.

Leuwin’s career pathway is allowing him to pursue his passion for helping people connect through food. He has worked hard for his achievements and has ambitions to be a successful chef and owner of a restaurant or boutique cafe. Currently, Leuwin aims to focus on doing his best, build his knowledge and make Windy Point proud to have selected him.
