Inspired by his grandfather’s remarkable life as a boilermaker, Stewart decided to forge his own path in metal fabrication and commenced an apprenticeship at Renrow Steel and a Certificate III in Engineering – Fabrication at Canberra Institute of Technology. It was an ideal choice, as he discovered a passion for hands-on work. I 

It didn’t take long for Stewart’s leadership skills to emerge. Promoted to Leading Hand at the end of his second year, he now leads a team of apprentices and tradespeople. Recognising his commitment and significant potential, Stewart’s employer continues to invest in his growth and development. Stewart aspires to become a mentor to those who face challenges on their apprenticeship journey. 

Vocational training has provided Stewart with stability, confidence, and purpose. It has given him a fulfilling career and a sense of achievement. His journey reflects the transformative power of skills-based education.
