Mickyia Glover is a proud Biripi woman from the Forster-Taree region of New South Wales. Mickyia completed a Diploma of Government with the CIT while employed by Services Australia. Through the Indigenous Apprenticeship Program, she combined study with practical public service experience, while building skills in policy, communication, critical thinking and emotional intelligence.

As the first person in her family to complete Year 12, Mickyia is passionate about Aboriginal Studies, humanities and addressing social issues. Before joining Services Australia, she worked in retail, leading cultural awareness initiatives and advocating for her Indigenous colleagues. Mickyia also participated in the University of Wollongong's Cultural Burning for Resilience documentary.

Mickyia serves on her workplace's South Coast Indigenous Cultural Committee and is learning the Gathang language to strengthen cultural connections and support language preservation. She hopes to use her skills and experience to support remote communities, address intergenerational disadvantage, and inspire First Nations people to pursue education, employment and careers in public service.
