Nicola Todd is completing a Certificate III in Heavy Commercial Vehicle Mechanical Technology through TAFE Queensland while employed by MEGT and hosted by  Penske Australia. This is her third trade, following qualifications in hairdressing and light vehicle mechanics. Through her commitment to lifelong learning, Nicola has pursued an unconventional career path that has equipped her with a diverse range of communication, customer service, technical, and problem-solving skills.

At Penske, Nicola applies her expertise in electrical systems, diagnostics and heavy vehicle technology while supporting colleagues and assisting apprentices with assessments, logbooks and workplace learning. She also holds HVAC and Heavy Rigid licences, further strengthening her versatility as a technician.

Beyond the workshop, Nicola volunteers as a rural firefighter and coaches a Townsville Grammar under-18 netball team. Having built a successful career across multiple trades, Nicola is a strong advocate for women in traditionally male-dominated industries.

Through her diverse career and community involvement, Nicola demonstrates that confidence, curiosity and a willingness to learn can open doors across a lifetime of careers, inspiring others to back themselves and explore new possibilities.
