Baxter Lewis completed a Certificate III in Electrotechnology Electrician through TasTAFE while employed by NECA Education & Careers and hosted by Frontline Electrical. Already a qualified roof plumber, he pursued electrical work as a second trade to expand his skills and take on the challenges of a new industry.
Throughout his apprenticeship, Baxter developed expertise in fault-finding, cable installation, testing and interpreting technical drawings. Working across industrial environments strengthened his focus on safety, reliability and effective problem-solving. A highlight of his apprenticeship was contributing to SCADA projects for TasWater, helping deliver and operate complex industrial control systems.
Baxter's achievements have been recognised through NECA Tasmania's Best Third Year and Best Fourth Year Apprentice awards, along with selection as the Tasmanian regional winner of Middy's Apprentice of the Year.
Combining the practical insight of two trades with a positive attitude and strong work ethic, Baxter is building a versatile career while supporting the next generation of electrical apprentices.
