Layla Nichols completed a Certificate III in Business through TasTAFE while working as a People and Culture Administrator with Federal Group. Her persistence in securing a traineeship after two years of trying reflects the determination she has brought to developing skills across recruitment, onboarding, employee engagement, training and organisational development. Layla led the Golden Ticket program, creating work experience and interview pathways for students, and visited schools to deliver mock interviews and employment advice.
Layla also contributed to research on young workers, supported Dress for Success initiatives and shared her insights on youth employment with senior leaders. In 2025, Layla represented Beacon Foundation, Federal Group and fellow trainees on a panel at the King’s Birthday Luncheon at Government House.
Known for her initiative, confidence and determination, Layla completed her qualification ahead of schedule while expanding her responsibilities in the workplace. Drawing on her own experience, Layla is helping young people recognise their potential and explore vocational pathways that can lead to meaningful and rewarding careers.
