Aleira is a student at Hobart City High School. With a passion for social justice, she decided to undertake a school-based traineeship to follow her dream of ‘making things happen.’ Aleira is enrolled in a Certificate IV in Business at Scala the Training Company and employed at the Legislative Council.

Quick to embrace leadership roles through her traineeship, Aleira seized the opportunity to work in the state government’s Legislative Council. She has gained valuable skills through her business services course, and she has shared her experiences with staff and students at Hobart City High School.

Aleira has presented at Tasmanian Youth Forums, and she has taken on internships at a number of organisations to boost her experience.

Aleira is a strong advocate for the development of a Youth Drop-in Centre in Hobart’s outer suburbs, and her advocacy has enabled her to interact with local politicians and members of the public.
