Annika Brown completed a Certificate III in Sport, Aquatics and Recreation through Royal Life Saving Western Australia while working with the Town of Port Hedland. Building on earlier experience as a solo aquatic technical operator in Marble Bar, Annika expanded her expertise across sport, recreation, administration and stakeholder engagement.
During her traineeship, Annika strengthened collaboration between the Health Club and Sport and Recreation teams, creating new opportunities for shared programs. She took full responsibility for the SALT seniors program, organising social sessions, managing finances and helping reinstate free community transport. Annika’s initiative, integrity and leadership earned trust across the organisation and supported her progression to Social Sports Officer.
Beyond work, Annika continues to support Marble Bar families through a free youth program delivered with Frontier Services.
Capable, mature and community-minded, Annika demonstrates how vocational education can transform practical experience into opportunities that strengthen regional communities.
