Having started her career as a finance trainee, Asinate quickly realised that office-based work wasn’t for her. A preference for hands-on work led her to pursue a mechanical trade apprenticeship, and she hasn’t looked back.

Employed by GTNT and gaining real world experience at Territory Generation, the NT’s largest electricity provider, Asinate completed a Certificate III in Engineering – Mechanical Trade at Charles Darwin University. 

Not content to sit still, Asinate recently enrolled in a Certificate III in Heavy Vehicle Mechanical Technology at Charles Darwin University.

Asinate had to overcome many challenges during her apprenticeship, but she believes this has helped her personal growth and made her confident in life – as an apprentice, a mother, a wife and a teammate. 

Asinate is passionate about her trade career, and she loves nothing more than inspiring others to take a similar path.
