The Bradford Institute is a community services RTO that specialises in innovative VET and workforce development. As part of its ‘VET for Good’ initiative, the Institute uses vocational education to address entrenched social issues. Skilled trainers support marginalised learners to achieve uncommon outcomes and this creative approach has fostered an enduring partnership with Allambi Care a specialist provider of youth residential care.
The two organisations deliver an innovative workplace learning model for youth workers on-site at Allambi Care, and the results have been remarkable. Nearly 600 youth workers have completed a Diploma of Community Services since 2015. Inspired to continue their training, many take advantage of articulation pathways into higher education where they gain advanced standing for their VET studies in bachelor’s degrees.
An astonishing 93% of youth workers graduate with a diploma. This initiative is transforming lives, and changing the trajectory of entire families, through training and workforce participation.
