Qualification: Certificate III in Commercial Cookery

RTO: TasTAFE

Employer: Palawa Kipli, Tasmanian Aboriginal Centre

With a passion for food and the creative process of cooking, Braydon has wanted to be a chef for as long as he can remember. He made his dream a reality by completing a Certificate III in Commercial Cookery through TasTAFE and the Gorge Restaurant.

Becoming a qualified chef has been a life-changing milestone. Braydon is now employed at Palawa Kipli, Tasmania’s only Aboriginal food business, where he brings culture to life through cuisine. Being able to cook traditional Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander dishes in a modern context is deeply rewarding, and Braydon is proud to be part of a movement that celebrates First Nations food and identity.

Braydon’s long-term goal is to open and run his own restaurant, where he can share his heritage and passion with others. Cooking isn’t just something he enjoys, it’s a way for him to connect with community, represent his culture, and teach others.
