Collaborative Partners: CPB Contractors (Employer), Health and Safety Advisory Service (RTO)

The Pathways to Infrastructure program is a collaborative school-based traineeship that has been designed to address critical skill shortages in the civil construction industry. CathWest students complete a Certificate II in Civil Construction delivered by Health and Safety Advisory Service while undertaking paid employment at CPB Contractors and working towards their higher school certificate.

The Pathways to Infrastructure program has been operational for five years, with 28 students enrolled in 2024. One of the program’s unique aspects is CathWest’s holistic curriculum, where students also complete a Certificate III in Business to ensure they are well-prepared to enter the workforce.

CathWest’s approach to education considers the workplace demands of today and tomorrow and aims to better equip students to meet these demands with multiple transferable skills. CathWest has forged strong relationships with Health and Safety Advisory Service and CPB Contractors to ensure the Pathways to Infrastructure program is truly successful.
