After leaving her job on a cattle station, Courtney realised her dream career was to establish her own beauty therapy business. To achieve this, she decided to pursue a vocational pathway. She completed a Diploma of Beauty Therapy at Charles Darwin University and has since opened The Essential Beauty NT.

Courtney is immensely proud of her beauty salon in Alice Springs, and her passion lies with her clients and what she can give back to the community. She credits Fiona Warde, her lecturer at Charles Darwin University, as her greatest supporter.

Courtney has become an advocate for vocational education, and she wants to inspire others to pursue VET studies and contribute to their communities.

“Mustering cattle wasn’t something I wanted to do forever. I’ve always been interested in beauty services and wanted to own a salon. I love meeting new people and making people feel good about themselves,” Courtney says.
