Gemma is an energetic, creative and innovative vocational educator with more than 16 years’ experience in the provision of adult literacy and numeracy initiatives. She is currently employed at TAFE NSW as a Team Leader, Literacy (Sydney Region), where she leads foundation skills programs for all learners across the region.

As a passionate and tireless champion for educational equity, opportunity and best practice, Gemma has devised a range of impactful outreach programs for at-risk and disadvantaged learners. She is also a respected voice in the adult literacy and numeracy sector, holding positions on the National Reading and Writing Hotline Steering Committee, NSW Adult Literacy and Numeracy Council and the TAFE NSW Foundation Skills Teacher Engagement Network.

Gemma is a well-regarded advocate for adult literacy and numeracy, and she is building strong collaborative relationships with employers, industry associations and government agencies to incorporate language, literacy and numeracy training in the workplace.
