Growing up on the family farm, Hamish developed a strong connection to the land and a deep appreciation for the hard work that goes into food production. He wants to make a meaningful impact on the industry by improving efficiency, sustainability, and best practices in farming. His school-based apprenticeship is equipping him with the skills he needs to contribute to the future of agriculture, while continuing his family’s legacy.
Hamish is a student at Downlands College. He is undertaking a Certificate III in Agriculture through Rural Training Australia (RTO), and he is employed as a trainee on his family farm.
Hamish is developing hands-on skills in cropping, cattle operations, and farm management. His training journey reinforces the importance of hard work, problem-solving and adaptability in the industry.
Through his commitment to, and leadership in, sustainable agriculture, Hamish hopes to inspire others to pursue careers in this essential industry.
