Howrah Plumbing employs 47 staff and offers a range of plumbing services in Southern Tasmania. In partnership with local registered training organisations, Howrah Plumbing supports its staff to complete nationally recognised training in plumbing, project management, leadership and safety-related areas. At any point in time, around 40% of staff are engaged in training.
Howrah Pluming has recently introduced an apprentice mentoring program, where its most experienced senior plumber and a recently retired plumber take the company’s 12 apprentices through a new task each month. The mentoring program aims to build well-being, confidence and enables apprentices to speak freely with senior plumbers.
Howrah Plumbing believes workforce investment is critical to business growth, and a highly skilled workforce increases productivity, enhances employee retention, improves customer experiences, reduces compliance issues and builds the company’s reputation. As a result, the company encourages every member of staff to continue their post-trade training journey.
