Jacqueline used a vocational pathway to transition from coach driving to support work, and she’s never looked back. Her only regret is not making the transition sooner. Passionate about making a positive difference in people’s lives, she provides one-on-one support in community and residential settings.
Jacqueline completed a Certificate III in Individual Support (Ageing and Disability) through Response Employment and Training. With financial support making study possible, Jacqueline embraced the opportunity to gain a formal qualification while continuing to work. Much of the training reinforced skills and knowledge she had previously acquired, which was comforting, it made her realise she had been completing tasks correctly and that she understood the theory behind them.
Jacqueline is proud of her decision to change careers, and she is committed to continuing her growth in the disability sector. Thanks to her vocational journey, Jacqueline now provides care with flair as a disability support worker.
