Keeley O'Shaughnessy is completing a Certificate III in Engineering - Fabrication Trade at Adelaide High School through a school-based boilermaking apprenticeship with BAE Systems Maritime Australia and TAFE SA. Inspired by her grandfather, a welder, Keeley's passion for fabrication began at a young age and grew into a desire to build a career creating and constructing with her hands.
Through her apprenticeship, Keeley is developing skills in welding and fabrication while contributing to major shipbuilding projects that support Australia’s future naval capability. Keeley has embraced the challenges of a highly skilled trade, growing in confidence, finding her voice in the workshop and taking pride in producing quality work as part of a team.
Known for her resilience, humour and instinct for teamwork, Keeley is a valued member of the workplace. With every project, she is building not only technical expertise, but the confidence and capability to contribute to some of Australia's most significant engineering achievements.
