Kevin Dorizzi is a proud Wangkatha and Yamatji man who completed a Diploma of Counselling through Central Regional TAFE while employed by Bega Garnbirringu Health Services. As an After Care Services Worker within the Social and Emotional Wellbeing program, Kevin provides culturally safe, trauma-informed support to Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people.
Personal experiences with mental health shaped his commitment to counselling and inspired him to help others navigate challenges with empathy and without judgement. His training strengthened his active listening, communication and interviewing skills, while building confidence in his professional practice. Kevin collaborates with services across Kalgoorlie, Esperance, Leonora and Laverton, coordinating community events, presentations and men’s bush trips that encourage open and safe conversations about mental health.
Recognised with a Central Regional TAFE student award, Kevin has also completed a Certificate IV in Mental Health and is studying a Bachelor of Psychology. Through compassion, understanding and a genuine desire to help others thrive, Kevin is making a lasting difference to the wellbeing of people across the Western Australian Goldfields.
