Known for his strong work ethic and teamwork, Nicholas balanced his traineeship journey with an illustrious career in the Northern Territory Football League. Juggling footy commitments with interstate training blocks and shiftwork required discipline, resilience and time management.
Nicholas completed a Certificate III in Process Plant Operations through TAFE International WA (RTO) and Programmed Skilled Workforce (GTO) while being hosted full-time by Santos at its Darwin LNG facility. When he started work as a trainee operator, everything clicked. This wasn’t just a qualification, it was a springboard to a long and rewarding career.
Nicholas intends to continue building his skills in process operations and pursue further qualifications in the field.
As a proud local Indigenous man of Larrakia and Iwaidja descent, Nicholas hopes to be a positive role model and inspire other Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people to consider a traineeship pathway in the booming resources industry.
