Starting out as an apprentice chef, Penny experienced first-hand the transformative power of vocational education. After years of thriving in the hospitality industry, Penny felt compelled to pay it forward, to make a difference in the lives of young people in her region. She decided to complete a Bachelor of Education, specialising in food technology. It was a way to give back to her industry, her region and the young people in her community.
In her role as VET Coordinator at Kildare Catholic College, Penny is truly living her dream. Her hospitality and business programs are consistently growing, and she is committed to providing innovative learning experiences to her students. Her personalised approach to training ensures every student feels valued and empowered to pursue their goals. With plans in place to expand the College’s VET offerings, Penny is championing the value of vocational pathways to her students and to her community.
