Rebecca’s favourite subject at school was woodwork. She loved to build stuff. So, when the time came to choose a career path, she enrolled in a construction management degree at university. She enjoyed the study, but there was something missing. In her final year of university, Rebecca started a traineeship with Laing O’Rourke, and she found where she wanted to be, outside and onsite.
Having completed a Certificate IV in Civil Construction through the Civil Contractors Federation as part of her traineeship, Rebecca is now an assistant supervisor with Laing O’Rourke, supervising complex civil works as part of Melbourne’s Eastern Freeway upgrades.
Embracing her daily leadership responsibilities with gusto, Rebecca advocated for greater autonomy and was awarded her own scope of works including leading work crews and managing safety.
Rebecca’s traineeship has set her up for a dynamic career in construction supervision and she is loving every minute of it.
