Rebecca is a proud Wiradjuri woman and embarked on her training journey through the Australian Government’s Indigenous Apprenticeship Program (IAP).

As part of her apprenticeship, Rebecca is enrolled in a Diploma of Government at the Canberra Institute of Technology and employed at the Department of Parliamentary Services.

Rebecca discovered the IAP while searching for work opportunities in the public sector, and it has enabled her to complete a qualification and gain practical experience in a government agency.

“The Diploma of Government has been extremely helpful for me. The course content has given me a clearer insight into the Government’s operations. It has also improved my skills in managing conflict and engaging with stakeholders. I believe the learning will be useful throughout my life,” Rebecca says.

Rebecca is a representative at the Parliamentary Services Indigenous Employees Network meetings and is actively involved in initiatives that improve Indigenous cultural awareness and inclusion.
