Knowing the importance of early intervention and tailored education for students with additional needs, Samatha pursued a vocational pathway to become an early childhood teacher. She completed a Certificate III in Early Childhood Education and Care at ECTARC Training Services and is employed at Jenny’s Kindergarten and Early Learning Bathurst.

Initially trained as a primary school special education teacher, Samantha took time away from the profession to raise her children. After a 10-year hiatus, she was ready to return. Setting her focus on a vocational pathway, Samantha completed a Certificate III in Early Childhood Education and Care in just over 12 months, which ensured she was recognised within the profession as an early childhood teacher – a certification that would have taken her years to achieve through a university pathway.

Samantha is now assistant director and educational leader of an early learning centre. Her pathway was the perfect avenue to success.
