To fulfil her ambition to deliver accredited first aid training, Storm challenged herself to complete the mandatory qualification for vocational education and training (VET) practitioners.

As part of her traineeship, Storm was enrolled in a Certificate IV in Training and Assessment at WANT Training Services and employed at St John Ambulance Australia (NT).

Completing the mandatory qualification was a pivotal moment in Storm’s career. The journey not only expanded her skill set, it boosted her self-confidence and provided opportunities to make meaningful connections within her community.

“I received excellent training. It was amazing how much support I received. And now I love my job,” Storm says

Storm currently works as a trainer and assessor with St John Ambulance Australia (NT), and also volunteers for the organisation at community events. She will decide over the next few years whether to train in paramedicine, which will qualify her for emergency work.
