Thebarton Senior College is a senior secondary college and registered training organisation. Thebarton Senior College’s pre-vocational Gateway 2 VET Program prepares young people for a range of careers In South Australia.

Using the South Australian Certificate of Education (SACE) subject framework, students in Years 10 to 12 develop work-oriented literacy, numeracy and employability skills, and gain industry relevant experience ready to commence a vocational qualification at Certificate II or Certificate III level.

One of the unique aspects of the program is the level of engagement and connection with local employers. The college works with over 40 industry partners who participate in curriculum development, provide insights into current industry trends and identify critical skills required for success in their fields.

Another unique aspect of the Gateway to VET Program is its capacity to engage students who do not conform to mainstream schooling, such as young parents, students with disability and new migrants.
