Vanessa embarked on a transformative journey when she decided to leave the hairdressing industry and enrol in a supply chain operations traineeship. As part of her traineeship, Vanessa was enrolled in a Certificate III in Supply Chain Operations at Charles Darwin University, employed by Programmed and hosted by Santos.

As an Indigenous woman, Vanessa wants to show her children the boundless possibilities that are achievable through dedication and perseverance. Vanessa’s work includes talking to Indigenous people about work and training opportunities in the oil and gas industry and provides opportunities to travel to the Tiwi Islands where her father was born.

“I love encouraging people, young and older, to take up training because it can change their lives. And it’s a fantastic experience,” Vanessa says.

Vanessa recently commenced a business traineeship, and her remarkable achievements serve as a testament to her committed focus on personal and professional growth.
