Xavier Cubillo

Xavier Cubillo completed a Certificate III in Electrotechnology Electrician through CDU while employed by Monadelphous Group Limited. Through his dual-trade apprenticeships in electrician and instrumentation, he has developed expertise across major industrial projects and complex electrical systems throughout the Northern Territory.

Becoming an electrician had been Xavier's goal from a young age. The dual-trade pathway offered the technical challenge, diverse career opportunities and long-term job security he was seeking. Through demanding shutdown campaigns, work in hazardous facilities and rigorous capstone assessments, Xavier strengthened his attention to detail, resilience, safety awareness and confidence. Since completing his apprenticeship, Xavier has secured an Instrumentation and Electrical Tradesperson role, applying his skills across complex industrial environments.

As the first electrician in his family, Xavier is proud to give back to his community by providing practical support and inspiring younger relatives to pursue their ambitions. He mentors apprentices, shares his knowledge with emerging tradespeople, represents his workplace at Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander networking events, and promotes trade careers as rewarding pathways for Aboriginal people.

Through his leadership, mentorship and commitment to community, Xavier is helping open doors for the next generation of skilled tradespeople.
