Driven by achieving secure future employment, Zane made an informed choice to undertake a school-based apprenticeship in refrigeration.  Zane is progressing his high school education at Casuarina Senior College whilst completing a Certificate III in Air Conditioning and Refrigeration at Charles Darwin University and working with LP Airconditioning. 

Zane has been active in VET programs since middle school, having previously completed a Certificate I in Automotive Vocational Preparation and Certificate I in ElectroComms Skills through the Palmerston Youth Skills Centre. Being able to engage in different trades has enabled him to experience a range of career options and choose his future pathway early.

“I worked in a fast-food place when I was in Year 9 and realised then that I would have a badly-paid job for life if I didn’t get an education and a trade. I really enjoy my work and training,” Zane says.
