A teacher at the Canberra Institute of Technology (CIT), Evan delivers a range of welding and metal fabrication classes to apprentices and night welding classes for the Canberra community.

He maintains a flexible training environment where students are able to undertake self-paced learning. He utilises a project based assessment model to assess student’s skills holistically.

Evan understands the importance of building strong relationships, both internally and externally, to ensure students receive a high quality education that meets industry needs and demands.

His relationships with industry give CIT access to some of the latest technology, including the supply of data recording devices linked to welding machines. These devices allow information to be recorded accurately while students are welding, giving instant and precise feedback on their performance.

In 2017, Evan was the CIT Student Association Teacher of the Year for Trade Skills and Vocational Learning.
