Certificate III in Electrotechnology Electrician

Jarrod developed a passion for the electrical field after successful work placements in Year 11 while he was studying Applied Engineering at St Patrick’s Technical College.

Striving for excellence, by the time he completed Year 12 Jarrod had been School Captain and had received a number of awards, including Student of the Year for Applied Engineering and the Principal’s Award.

Jarrod is currently completing a Certificate III in Electrotechnology with PEER and his host employer, BW Thompson Electrical. He said he believes he chose a very smart pathway to his career, as VET has enabled him to gain practical experience at a proportional rate to theory based learning.

Jarrod now aims to learn as much as he possibly can about the electrical industry and hopes to one day become an electrical engineer.

His Certificate III will contribute to recognised prior learning when he applies for a Bachelor of Electrical Engineering.
