21 year old Jessica Wooley grew up on a 10 acre farm on South Australia’s pristine Kangaroo Island. Having grown up surrounded by trucks and machinery, and a love of the outdoors, it seemed only natural that Jessica would one day have a hands-on career.

Jessica was 17 when she commenced her Australian Apprenticeship in electrotechnology with SA Power Networks and TAFE SA. The career start was a big step for Jessica which involved a move to Adelaide and renting on her own.

Despite being away from the comforts of home, Jessica excelled in her Australian Apprenticeship so much so that her initiative and innovation was recognised when an electronic calculation sheet she designed for transformer ratio tests was integrated into the company’s quality system.

Rewarded for her achievements, Jessica was nominated for the 2012 SA Power Networks Apprentice of the Year and in 2014 she won the SA Power Works’ Playford Trophy for being the company’s best fourth year apprentice. Not stopping there, Jessica was also an outstanding TAFE SA student, graduating with 10 distinctions and five credits to her name.
