Certificate III in Landscape Construction
Jordan Cahill chose to complete a nationally recognised qualification through an Australian Apprenticeship in landscape construction because it enabled him to combine variety of trades in one career. Through his on the job training he has demonstrated some exemplary skills in timber, stone masonry, brickwork and horticulture on projects ranging from multi-million dollar developments to public playground construction.
In 2016 Jordan won a silver medal in landscape construction at the WorldSkills Australia National Competition and following this a WorldSkills Australia BBM Scholarship for his outstanding talent in the trade. With the scholarship, Jordan travelled to London to work with The Outdoor Room at the Royal Chelsea Flower Show which has propelled him to make plans to run and own his own landscaping business one day.
Jordan says his hands-on training was invaluable and credits his TAFE NSW teachers (who he now proudly calls his industry mentors) for pushing him to reach the highest standards.
