Certificate III in Commercial Cookery
After 15 years of working as a paediatric nurse while juggling a household of four young children, Louise Brookes decided she needed a fresh challenge. Drawing on time spent devising new recipes for her family, commercial cookery seemed a natural option and Louise completed barista and Responsible Service of Alcohol training before commencing a Certificate III in Commercial Cookery.
Louise’s training pathway had the flexibility to fit around her family commitments and provided her with a combination of practical sessions and theory as well as strong mentorship and support. She believes her decision to undertake training has made her a good role model for her children and an example that goals can be achieved at any stage of life.
In the future, Louise would like to develop her leadership skills and complete a Diploma of Nutrition to complement her nursing background, commercial cookery course and passion for serving people good food.
