Certificate III in Commercial Cookery
Stephanie Verrall aspired to be a lawyer before switching to work in the world of food, kitchens and cooking. This was through a School-based Apprenticeship in commercial cookery.
The Year 12 student already had a Certificate II in Kitchen Operations and had established her own successful cake-making business when she started working for multi-award winning café, My Kingdom for a Horse.
She became the café’s first School-based Apprentice when the head chef saw the skills and techniques Stephanie was using were to an industry standard, and well advanced considering her age.
In the future Stephanie wants to travel through Europe to experience authentic cuisines, work in a five-star restaurant, and is striving to win gold at the 2021 Secondary Schools Culinary Competition.
