Certificate IV in Work, Health and Safety

Tyrone Hughes is a proud Yorta Yorta man whose personal goals have always been his driver for success.

When Tyrone left school he couldn’t settle on what he wanted to do and he tried a lot of careers, from boilermaker to horticulture, from resources and infrastructure to hospitality, and even extreme sports. It was a hard task figuring it out in a small town where local job opportunities were scarce.

Tyrone moved to the city and relentlessly applied for numerous jobs until he won a traineeship with the Department of Planning, Transport and Infrastructure and entered the construction industry as a trainee where he did a Certificate III in Civil Construction and Plant Operations.

Tyrone is a perfectionist and his regular voicing of opportunities for improvement to his managers saw him promoted into the role of Safety Officer. To support him in that role he has completed a Certificate IV in Work, Health and Safety.

Tyrone loves going to work knowing he can effect positive change in the workplace.
