Established in 1997, Crown Melbourne is a large integrated resort and has a casino, three hotels, function rooms, award winning restaurants and shopping and entertainment facilities. It provides employees with highly customised training, giving successful participants vocational education and training qualifications or statements of attainment in hospitality, tourism, leadership, management, and workplace training and assessment.
At any one time, approximately 900 or 13 per cent of Crown’s 6500 employees are completing nationally accredited qualifications or statements of attainment. Crown Melbourne won the Employer of the Year Award at the 2013 Australian Training Awards. The award recognises a medium to large enterprise which has achieved excellence in the provision of nationally recognised training to its employees.
This was the second time Crown Melbourne has received national recognition; it also won the award in 2010.
