Co-designed by TasTAFE and the Civil Contractors Federation Tasmania, the Civil Job Ready Program is transforming lives by providing practical, industry-aligned training that connects people to meaningful work in the civil construction sector.
With a focus on tailored learning, personalised support and real-world placements, this pre-vocational pathway is empowering a diverse cohort of learners including job seekers, migrants, and career changers to gain job-ready skills and confidence.
The program is achieving great success, with 80% of participants completing their training and transitioning into employment. The program is also increasing the participation of underrepresented groups in the civil construction workforce including parents returning to work and primary carers.
Collaborative partnerships such as this exemplify how vocational education can drive social and economic inclusion while addressing workforce needs.
